I've installed Scilab 3.0 on Athena for Sun and Linux. Scilab is a
free numeric and digital signal processing application comparable to
Matlab, though not an exact clone of it. It comes with interfaces to
Maple, external C and FORTRAN programs and many demos. To run it:
add scilab
scilab
