I've installed a new version of xfig in the sipb locker for Decs,
Suns, and RS6ks.
To run the new version (version 3.1), type:
add sipb; xfig.new
The new version does not save pictures in the same format as the old
version. The new version can probably load and edit pictures saved by
the old version, but the old one can probably not load pictures from
the new one.
Please try out xfig.new. Make sure it can successfully read and
pictures you've created with the old version. If you have any
problems, send a report to bug-sipb@mit.edu. If it works, please drop
me a line (svalente@mit.edu) saying that it works. When I hear a lot
more success reports that bug reports, I'll rename the programs so
that simply typing "xfig" runs the new version.
Forward this to anyone who uses xfig a lot.
