I've installed AbiWord (general-purpose word processor) on Athena for Sun
and Linux. To run it:
add abiword
abiword &
From my message to users:
You are running AbiWord 2.0, which has recently been installed on Athena.
AbiWord is a general-purpose, freely-distributed word processor licensed
under the GPL. There are some feature differences between the Sun and Linux
versions as not all optional features and plugins could be made to work on
Suns.
AbiWord uses an XML-based file format that is platform-independent. It
will create a directory ~/.AbiSuite in your home directory where it stores
your individual configuration settings (also platform-independent).
There is online help, and several tutorials (start from:
http://web.mit.edu/abiword_v2.0/distrib/share/docs/Tutorials/jmp/TOC.htm
http://web.mit.edu/abiword_v2.0/distrib/share/docs/Tutorials/klw/index.html),
and a user's manual in AbiWord format (/mit/abiword_v2.0/Abiword_Manual.abw).
