I've updated Qt on Athena to release 3.0.0 for all platforms but don't
plan to make it the Athena default until IAP 2002.
Qt is a set of widgets for developing GUIs (and in particular, is the
basis of the Linux KDE desktop and the Opera browser).
One point of note is that 3.0 is not binary-compatible with pre-3.0 releases,
so if you have applications build under older Qt versions you will need to
recompile them to run then with version 3.0.
There is information on how to use it and build demos in the various README*
files at the top level of the qt_v3.0.0 locker:
README.athena
README.config
README.to-run
There is online html documentation starting from
http://web.mit.edu/qt_v3.0.0/www/index.html. Links to information about new
features in 3.0.0 are on the right side of this page.
