I've updated the NetBeans Java SDK on Athena to release 8.0. To use it:
add netbeans
netbeans

NetBeans 8.0 has been installed and made the default.
You can run the prior 8.0 beta release by launching as:
add netbeans
netbeans -ver 8.0b
User configuration files will be stored below a ~/.netbeans/8.0
directory in your home directory. The "What's New" button on the
start page will point you to information about new features in
this release.
A selection of add-on modules has also been installed. You can see which
ones by selecting Tools -> Plugins and selecting the Installed tab.
