IS&T is pleased to announce the availability of Red Hat Enterprise Linux =
6, as well as an updated version of the Red Hat Network (RHN) update =
service. We are still in the process of updating documentation to =
reflect this release, but we know the MIT Community has been anxious to =
begin using RHEL 6 and we wanted to make it available as soon as =
possible. =20
DVD images for RHEL 6 may be obtained at =
https://nic-too.mit.edu/rhlinux/rhel-6.0/ (MIT Certificates required). =
All RHEL users should also register for the MIT RHN update service. =
Instructions and a link to the registration page can be found at =
http://ist.mit.edu/services/os/linux/rhn
Although IS&T makes the "Server", "Workstation", and "Client" flavors of =
RHEL available, IS&T only recommends and supports RHEL 6 as a server =
platform. Desktop Linux users are encouraged to use Debathena with =
Ubuntu Linux 10.04. More information on Debathena can be found at =
http://debathena.mit.edu.
