Hi,

This is to confirm that I will be permanently shutting down the student
Matlab license server on hypodorian next Monday (12/20/10) around 12
noon. Please turn off all monitoring, cron and auto-restart scripts you
may have running before then. I'll turn off my own (flexmonmatlabd).

The following notice can be sent in response to any complaints:

"The Student MATLAB License Server has been shut down in accordance with
a change in our licensing terms. MATLAB is still available free of
charge to all current MIT students, however the new version requires
each student to register for their own license with The MathWorks.
Installation instructions and license information can be found at
http://web.mit.edu/student-matlab/ The impending license server shut
down was advertised throughout the fall semester in The Tech, on the
IS&T website and 3DOWN service status page, on various mailing lists, on
the video displays in the Infinite corridor, and on posters on the door
of Athena clusters. For more information on the shutdown and details of
the new license, please visit http://ist.mit.edu/news/studentmatlab"
