Maple 6.0 is now available. To run it now, do:
add maple
maple -ver 6.0 &
at the Athena prompt.
This is a relatively significant upgrade. The major new features
include the addition of new commands to the Maple programming
language, a new C interface, new packages (including the NAG
library). Some functions used in previous releases have been
obsoleted or changed in their meaning.

This version will not be made the Athena default until at least
Fall 2000.
Please try out this new version as soon as possible and give us
your comments to help us make decisions about which version to
