Matlab on Athena has been updated to 7.9. From my message to users:
Matlab 7.9 has been installed on Athena (they also call it
R2009b). Many of the Toolboxes have been updated (use Matlab "ver"
command for versions). As before, the lpsolve linear programming
solver has been added to the locker (Linux only).

To run it now:
add matlab
matlab -ver 7.9
It will not be made the default version until after the end of the current
semester.
The Matlab Compiler is partly broken on Suns; it only works if you run
it within the Matlab environment (from the Matlab prompt), and not
from the Athena prompt.
