I've updated the Tecplot plotting package on Athena to 360-2008. From my
message to users:
Tecplot 360 release 2008 has been installed and made the default. The launch
command has been renamed; to launch it:
add tecplot
tec360 &
To run the prior 360-2 release now, type:
add tecplot
tecplot -ver 360-2 &
at the Athena prompt. pdf manuals are available at
https://web.mit.edu/tecplot_v360-2008/www. Release notes are at
https://web.mit.edu/tecplot_v360-2008/www/release.pdf.
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR SUN USERS: the Sun version will time out on 7/1/08 and
Tecplot will no longer be available on Suns after that date. The reason for
this is that floating licenses for Sun are no longer available from the vendor.
We have been able to get a temporary Tecplot 360-2008 key that enables Suns
for a limited time but the vendor won't extend it beyond the date above.
Please note that if you only have access to a Sun, you can run the Linux
version remotely by ssh'ing to the SIPB machine linerva.mit.edu.
