I've updated Matlab on Athena to 7.5 (R2007b). From my message to users:
Matlab 7.5 has been installed on Athena (they also call it
R2007b). Many of the Toolboxes have been updated (use Matlab "ver"
command for versions). As before, the lpsolve linear programming
solver has been added to the locker (but Linux only, due to
compilation problems with the Sun version). The snopt solver may
also be invoked within Matlab.

To run it now:
add matlab
matlab -ver 7.5
It will not be made the default version until after the end of the current
semester.
