I've updated Mathematica on Athena to 6.0. From my message to users:
Mathematica 6.0 has been installed on Athena for Sun and Linux machines. You
can run it now by typing "add math", followed by:
mathematica -ver 6.0 & (for the GUI interface)
math -ver 6.0 (for the command-line interface)
This is a major release, with significantly enhanced functionality.
For new features follow the "What's New in 6" link on the Startup Palette.
We are planning to make it the Athena default after a few weeks of testing.
We haven't added the IMTEK Mathematica Supplement yet, and probably won't
for at least several months (see file /mit/math_v5.2/README.athena for
information about what it is).
Known bug: search within the Documentation Center on Suns is broken.
To avoid any potential cross-version problems we've put user's local
Mathematica 6 files in a separate .Mathematica.6.0 directory in your
home directory (pointed to by a .Mathematica symbolic link).
