I've installed R on Athena for Sun and Linux. R is a system for
statistical computation and graphics, with an internal programming
language. It's related to Splus, a similar commercial application
also on Athena. Emacs modes are avalable via ESS, an add-on package
that is also installed in the locker. To run it:
add r
R
There are pdf manuals accessible from http://web.mit.edu/r_v2.5.0. The
README.athena also accessible from there has additional information,
including how to use the Emacs modes.
