I've installed CLC Free Workbench on Athena for Sun and Linux. This is
an integrated Bioinformatics application that includes alignment
creation and editing, interactive restriction site analysis,
phylogenetics, integrated GenBank searches and DNA to protein
translation. It is somewhat similar to the Geneious toolkit I also
installed recently. To run it:

	add clcbio
	clcfreewb3 &

There is online documentation and tutorial material, and a pdf manual at
http://web.mit.edu/clcbio_v3.2.2/Free-manual_US.pdf

Although support is only claimed for Linux, the application seems to be written
in pure Java and seems to run on Suns. It's possible that some features may not
work on Suns.
