I have installed ChemDraw Pro 3.1 on Athena for Suns. ChemDraw is a chemical
formula drawing tool, that allows users to put together chemical structure
diagrams of various types in a GUI, "drag-and-drop" environment. To use
it, do "add chemdraw; chemdraw &" at the Athena prompt.

There is online help, and an online user's guide in pdf format, in file
/mit/chemdraw_v3.1/cdu3_1.pdf.

ChemDraw will create a directory chemdrawitems in the user's home directory.
This contains required configuration files that must be user-writable in
some cases, and its contents should not be deleted.

The version we have is already dated as the vendor has decided to discontinue
UNIX as a supported platform: the PC release is currently at 4.5; however
it retains sufficient functionality to be useful to a significant set of
potential users.

Installation/configuration problems, if any, can be reported directly to me.

                                                Alex
