I've updated Matlab on Athena to 7.4 (R2007a). From my message to users:

Matlab 7.4 has been installed on Athena (they also call it
R2007a). Many of the Toolboxes have been updated (use Matlab "ver"
command for versions), and we have added Simscape. As before, the
lpsolve linear programming solver has been added to the locker
(but Linux only, due to compilation problems with the Sun version).

lpsolve documentation is at:

http://web.mit.edu/lpsolve_v5507/doc/MATLAB.htm

Release notes are available in the internal help system, or at the
Mathworks Web site:

http://www.mathworks.com/access/helpdesk/help/base/relnotes/

To run it now:

        add matlab
        matlab -ver 7.4

It will not be made the default version until after the end of the current
semester.

Please let us know if you encounter significant problems or bugs by
writing to the 3partysw@mit.edu mailing list.

We are also working on R2007a installers for the Student Matlab distribution
and hope to be able to make these available soon at the download site.

                                      Alex
