Documentation is accessible internally via Help -> Manual, and there is
a pdf manual at http://web.mit.edu/qcad_v2.0.5/manual_reference.pdf as
well as local html documentation at
http://web.mit.edu/qcad_v2.0.5/.qcad-2.0.5.0-1-community.src.i386_rhel4/qcad/doc/index.html
Configuration and recently visited files are stored in a ~/.qcad directory;
QCad also uses the ~/.qt directory.
On first launch, you may need to enlarge the initial dialog box vertically,
in order to see the OK button asking you to set initial preferences.
