I have installed ncftp in the sipb locker. NcFTP is a freely available
alternative the traditional ftp command. It has a number of interesting
features including a non-interactive mode, command line editing and
history, logging, pager support for long output, and configuration file
(~/.ncftprc) customizability that's better than the .netrc used by ftp.
There are other things; read the man page.
