Continuing the tradition of bloated software that tries to do everything,
Netscape Communicator 4.0b5 and Netscape Calendar are now available in
the outland locker. To run:
add outland
netscape-beta # For Communicator
nscal # For Calendar
Netscape Communicator is, of course, Netscape's latest, greatest
attempt to eat processor cycles, memory, and produce a product that
attempts to do more things than Emacs. Other than that, it has a
spiffier UI, is better integrated, supports CSS1 (Cascading Style
Sheets), Dynamic HTML, Dynamic Fonts, and lots of other features
you're sure to use. For more information, try the release notes:
http://home.netscape.com/eng/mozilla/4.0/relnotes/unix-4.0b5.html
Netscape Communicator Preview Release 5 is installed for Linux,
NetBSD, Irix, Solaris, HPUX, and SunOS. Plugin directories are
supported as before on most platforms. Dynamic Fonts are only
available on Solaris and Irix. Calendar is only available for Solaris
and Irix.
Enjoy!
