I've installed Java Studio Enterprise 8 on Athena for Sun and
Linux. Java Studio Enterprise, as the name implies, is a complex,
enterprise-level Java development environment from Sun. It comes
with a bundled version of the JDK. To run it:
add jsenterprise
jsenterprise
Some functionality, particularly any that requires running a persistent server,
may not be appropriate for use on Athena.
A large amount of documentation and tutorial material is available through
the internal help system. Please read file /mit/jsenterprise_v8/README.athena
for additional important information about running it, particularly the
MISCELLANEOUS section near the end.
