I've updated the Java Development Kit in the java locker to 1.5.0_01 and
made it the default. From my message to users:

The Java Development Kit release 1.5.0_01 has been installed and made the
default for Sun and Linux. The installation includes Java 3d 1.3.1 and the
Java Advanced Imaging API 1.1.2_01; the strong encryption modules from
jce_policy-1_5_0.zip have also been installed. The locker also contains
the Java Advanced Imaging Image I/O libraries, version 1.0_01.

This release is a major update that incorporates significant changes in
functionality over the 1.4.x versions.

You need to type "add -f java" in order to bypass various other java binaries
that will otherwise be found instead of the ones in the java locker.

These are the latest production releases as of this writing.

To run other versions now do "add -f java" followed by a JDK command
immediately followed by a "-ver" switch, i.e. like:

javac -ver 1.1.6 myfile.java

(if you use any other command-line switches, they must follow the
"-ver" switch).

Documentation in html format is available starting from:
