[MIT ONLY]

Mathematica is now available for MIT users with Athena accounts. We
have a limited number (10) of floating licenses and it is possible
that you will be unable to run Mathematica if all of them are in use.

You must be logged into an Athena DECstation to use it; to run, type
"add math;mathematica" at the UNIX prompt to get the version with
the new Notebook Front End (you must be running X windows to run this
version).

To run the "traditional" ASCII interface version, type "add math; math"
at the UNIX prompt. This version should run over dialup if you stick to
commands that do not invoke graphics functions.

For on-line documentation, type "mathbook" at the UNIX prompt after adding
the math locker (X windows needed).

Mathematica is unsupported and Athena consultants should not be
expected to assist you in using it (books on Mathematica are available
at the Coop and elsewhere). If you find what you think are bugs in
Mathematica or are unable to run it, you should report them via
sendbug. Please note that it can take a long time to start up (several
minutes is not uncommon).
