I've installed Neuron on Athena for Sun and Linux. Neuron is a
simulator of neurons and networks of neurons, with an extensible
library of biophysical mechanisms.
To access the entire suite of commands from a Sun or Linux Athena
machine, users should first type:
add neuron
at the Athena prompt, followed by one of the Neuron-related commands such as:
nrngui
neurondemo (etc.)
The list of available commands can be displayed by typing:
cd /mit/neuron/bin
ls
after adding the neuron locker (except for athdir and machtype- those are not
part of the Neuron installation).
html and pdf documentation and tutorials are below
/mit/neuron_v6.5/doc and /mit/neuron_v6.5/nrntuthtml. These can be
accessed with a Web browser at URLs starting from
http://web.mit.edu/neuron_v5.6/doc and
http://web.mit.edu/neuron_v5.6/doc/nrntuthtml.
