Just as a note, I'll be sending out the usual prospectives info
email this year (unless someone tells me not to). Here's the
section on service maintaining:
3. Do a project or become a machine/service maintainer! Projects are harder to
either get involved in or start --- but if you have an idea (e.g.,
I wrote "Inessential xbm Bitmaps" only because I was such an
art weenie without a clue on much of anything else), go for it.
As for maintenance, most current maintainers will love to have
help, and they'll be more than happy to show even a clueless new
person how to do things (really!). Come by and ask what services
need maintenance help. I'm sure you'll find things. If nothing
else, you can clean the fridge next time it gets gross --- now,
that's a project in and of itself :-) Too bad it's not very
educational ("Gee, never knew green mold could float" is not
exciting information).
Does anyone have any other GENERAL suggestions for what to write?
Feel free to send anything else my way.
