'turns out that clean_dir.pl set the 200k quota. I upped this to
17,500k, to be consistent with the quotas I set, over Marc's zephyred
objection. It would be nice if two of the three of the maintainers of
{clean_dir, clean_dir.pl, clean_dir.csh} could get together and scrap
their scripts.
There is evidently some dispute about what a reasonable quota is. I
think that guests should be able to use their accounts in a reasonable
fashion.
If people can agree on a better number, feel free to use it. My
rationale is that 200k is clearly too little, and I don't think 5000k
is a reasonable quota to do any sort of work in, and disk is cheap, so
we should be nice to our guests. I don't think quota should be less
than that of an Athena cell homedir, and whenever I get a guest
account somewhere, I certainly would like to have a reasonable amount
of disk space, so the Golden Rule applies.
There is apparently a view espoused by Marc that I cannot do justice,
which is something about discouraging people from storing files in
sipbN accounts, and making case-by-case exceptions.
Feel free to change the number, but please don't change the quotas of
checked-out accounts until they are checked in.
