Seagate seems to have discontinued the narrow SCSI 9GB Barracuda
disks. I asked Kathleen to order these instead:
9.1GB Medalist Pro Ultra SCSI
Price: $516.15
Shipping: $3.95
NECX item number: 0000122496
Manufacturer's part number: ST39140N
The Medalist Pro seems to match all the same specs as the Barracuda we
ordered, and should be compatible with the enclosures we got. I hope
they aren't any less reliable. The MBTF on them is 800,000 hours; the
MBTF on the Barracuda disks isn't specified on the NECX page about
them.
Sigh.
