The outage happened. Three ~2GB partitions were added as rc:/vicep{e,f,g}
In order to avoid piling the new disk on top of the ra, rc and
bloom-picayune stack of disks, I placed it to the left of ra, rc, and
bloom-beacon, on the table with the sun monitor. The rc:/vicpe{c,d}
disk was moved to be with it.
Of interest is the fact that the fileserver dumped core on its way up.
jhawk said he'd take a look at it.
I'll deal with moving volumes onto the new partitions tomorrow.
