I'd like to see bill-the-cat updated to the current
8.0 release.
Typically this has been avoided because of fear of breaking
the backup system which may have undocumented special
modifications to the machine or it's configuration (particular
with regard to the DLT).
Could folks please try to make sure that all of customizations to Bill
are documented in the appropriate place (i.e. /var/CHANGES and
/afs/sipb/project/office-machines/...). Please do this
within the coming week.
Assuming that's done, if there are no objections, I'd like to
update Bill next weekend. If there are objections, I'm happy to
postpone this (especially if Tom is still adjusting the tape
drive software and hardware), but I'd like the mods to be documented
some time this week, regardless.
