The binaries and libraries in the newtex locker will be
replicated in tonight's automatic SIPB-cell release. This means that
all the files needed to run TeX, LaTeX and dvips out of the newtex
locker will exist on multiple servers. Hopefully, this will allow the
newtex locker to continue to function when a server in the SIPB AFS
cell is having problems. This may reduce the load on consultants and
newtex maintainers during periods of AFS trouble.
The fonts, macros and other support files have already been
replicated.
For sipb-afsreq: I created a replication site for
project.tex.fonts and released the volume. I copied the
architecture-dependent files for supported SIPB Athena and Athena
platforms into the project.tex volume which is alread replicated. I
will remove the old volumes in the morning.
