I agree that ideally we should be encrypting the backups, although I
haven't yet tried to figure out whether this might cause a lot of
extra cpu load on bill-the-cat. We might want to also look at
encrypting the backups using ssh with the "arcfour" encryption type.
That may require fewer cycles on bill-the-cat than rsh -x would. I
don't think it'd require much in the way of software changes --
probably just making gtar use "--rsh-command=/usr/local/bin/ssh".
