I brought the new AFS server's disks to W20 yesterday and the CPU
today. I didn't get a monitor for the new machine (we can get one if
we want, but we don't have a place to put it and I don't want to carry
it across campus).
Three of the disks are in testing on hodge. I couldn't get all four
disks to work properly; apparently yaz doesn't like dealing with a
SCSI chain that long.
The new enclosures are kind of special: they only run their fans when
they think the disks are hot, and the power light starts flashing if
the disk temperature gets above the operating range. Also, I didn't
attach all the feet because I expect to receive stacking kits next
week.
The new machine is in the machine room. I'm running the ops SunOS
install on it now; tomorrow I'll work on the changes needed for SIPB
AFS stuff. Depending on whether I run into any problems, we may be
able to deploy the server O(next Thursday).
