Okay, I have come up with the following three options for enclosures:
* APS Technologies sells a single-disk enclosure called ICE
enclosures for $130 apiece. According to sgw, they're
cooled a bit better than normal enclosures, and they're also
intended to be stacked. They have a clamp-like connector
which goes between enclosures, so you get a very short SCSI
chain.
* Impediment sells Kingston four-disk and two-disk enclosures.
They were recommended by Mike Barrow. I don't have a price
from them yet, and I don't know if their four-disk enclosure
does two SCSI busses or not. They have a very informative
web site, which I like.
* Cygnus buys disks and enclosures from Dirt Cheap Drives.
They charge $140 for a two-disk enclosure and $250 for a
four-disk enclosure. (Eric thinks their four-disk
enclosures could probably do two SCSI busses, but the sales
person I talked to didn't understand what I was asking.)
If you have a strong preference for or against any of these three
options, please speak up. In the absence of new outside input, I'm
going to go with the APS Technologies enclosure, with the bare disks
coming from Falcon.
