After the mail Matt sent several volumes moved, and then three volumes
in a row failed. At this point I stopped the bulk move. I suspect
that there may have been volume turds left around, but I'm too tired
right now to feel comfortable trying to clean it up. I've left
everything in /usr/tmp on rosebud.

Does anyone know what this means?
