I finally managed to move user.proven without errors tonight. The way
I managed that was by repeatedly doing "vos listvol" on rosebud2 b
while the move was in progress. I suspect that the servo on the head
pack is dying, and thus knocking around the head pack while it's
trying to track might help things somewhat. Tracking problems are
somewhat more insidious than media problems, as media problems usually
are consistent.
Anyway I tarred what stuff I could read before I moved user.proven
over to user.proven.scratch (mounted on
/afs/sipb/user/proven.scratch). If there are actually problems then
it may be necessary to get stuff from there. I don't think there will
be any though.
Chris, if you find any problems, please let us know, or else let us
know when we can nuke user.proven.scratch. The only additional file
that I could identify as possibly being corrupted was
Mail/pthreads/466, which at first glance appears intact.
