Novell's LAN WorkPlace for OS2 is available via anonymous ftp from
net-dist.mit.edu:/pub/dos/lwp4os2 to members of the MIT community. It should
be compatible with OS/2 1.3, 2.0, 2.1, and WARP.
This is not a supported product, nor do we recommend it. However it is the
only freely available alternative at this time. It does not support much
more than ftp and telnet. It has several bugs. It is unclear that Novell
ever intends to make any subsequent releases of the product.
You will be much happier if you buy IBM's TCP/IP support for OS/2. Unfortunately
IBM does not yet offer any academic price discounts for this software. We
are negotiating with IBM with the goal of being able to distribute IBM's
TCP/IP support for OS/2 at no direct cost to MIT users. Once
negatiations are complete an annoucement will be made to ospartners@mit.edu.
This will most likely take several more months to complete.
