The version 3 install went well until I hung the system by running
MSoffice in a winos2 window, ending up in a non-productive cycle where each
time I shut-down and restarted I would end up with the same problem. I
solved this by changing the settings for Msoffice to full screen which then
hung the sustem in a way thatallowed me to kill the application completely.
But then my sound card (PAS16) was locked to other applications. So I
reinstalled the sound card drivers and it worked with OS2 but not windows.
So I reinstalled winos2 support and sound came back to windows until the
next winos2 window hung. So bask to reinstalling things again. Then some
time later I decided that DOS might not be so bad after all.
The dual boot feature however would not work as advertised. I would
always end up in OS2. So to get DOS I reinstalled V6.0 from floppies. A
check showed that I have 3 versions of EA_DATA._SF on the disk, two of
which are crosslinked and none of which can be reset using the attrib
command, i.e. they cannot be deleted. I assume there should be only one
copy of this file. Does anyone know how to clean up this mess. Thanks for
any help you can give.
