If you're looking for a introductory book for OS/2 2.x programming, I
found one for you. The Copley Square Buck-a-Book has about 20 copies of
"Advanced OS/2 Presentation Manager Programming" by Burge and Celi on
sale for $5.* Don't let the "Advanced" in the title scare you,**
I bought a copy, and it looks like a really good introduction for
everything you need to know to write a good looking PM program.
Its 370 pages includes chapters on A PM Code Template, Window Handles,
Dialog Boxes, Colors, Bitmaps, Subclassing, Menus, Sliders, File and
Font Dialogs, Notebook Controls, Containers, Frame Controls, DLLs,
System Hooks, and more.
The Copley Square Buck-a-Book is across Boylston Street from the Boston
Public Library, about 100 feet from Copley Station on the Green Line.
The books are downstairs in the "Computers" section. Since the store is
a couple of blocks from my apartment, if you want me to pick up a copy
for you, send me email, and I'll bring it into my office this week.
It's definitely worth the five bucks (regularly $34.95). I'll have my
copy in my office (38-591) on Monday and Tuesday if you want to come by
and take a look at it.
Disclaimer: I have no financial interest in this, I just want to see
more people at MIT writing OS/2 programs, like Zephyr, Discuss, Dash,
and Kerberometer.***

* Yeah, it's a book at Buck-a-Book for five bucks. So sue me.
(Actually it's $5.25 including sales tax.)
** I think "Advanced" means that you already know C.
*** I'm kidding. I hate Dash.
