The next meeting of the MIT OS/2 USERS GROUP will be Thursday, September
15, at 5pm in MIT room 2-105. Joe Woodwell, an IBM Software Marketing
Representative from Kansas City, will be presenting the One-Up SMART
Tool. Joe Woodwell is the One-Up/IBM liason and SMART tool specialist.
The SMART Tool (Source Migration and Reporting Tool) automatically ports
Windows 3.1 and OS/2 1.x code to full 32-bit Presentation Manager code.
If time permits, there will be a short Warp II beta demo.
Also, we've got a copy of DevCon 4 and the Warp II beta to raffle off.
The October meeting (10/20) will feature a talk by Lloyd Webber, IBM's OS/2
liason to companies developing games. He will be discussing the DIVE
architecture that permits fast graphics display (fast like the multimedia
software full-motion video) in a Presentation Manager window.
For the November meeting (11/17), we are looking for someone to give a
very technical presentation on OS/2 programming. We are also looking
into sponsoring a "New User Clinic" sometime this term. If you have
ideas for other presentations, please contact me.
WE NEED SUBMISSIONS FOR THE NEWSLETTER! Please help by writing a short
article on any topic relating to OS/2 and sending it to me. Any article
on any OS/2 topic is acceptable (*having* a newsletter is more important
than having a *good* newsletter at this point).
