daemon@ATHENA.MIT.EDU (klund@MIT.EDU)
Tue Mar 8 14:13:09 1994
From: klund@MIT.EDU
Date: Tue, 8 Mar 94 14:12:13 -0500
To: os2@MIT.EDU, usermsgs@MIT.EDU, mit-bboard@lcs.mit.edu
The next meeting of the MIT OS/2 USERS GROUP will be Thursday, March 17,
at 5pm in room 2-105. Henry Jiccha of IBM will be demonstrating IBM's
new Visual Application Development Tools : Visual Age, an object
oriented tool, and HighPoint, a powerbuilder-type tool.
We will also be showing two short (six minute) videos : David Barnes
selling OS/2 for Windows in New York; and a naked-from-the-waist-down
Lou Gerstner addressing Comdex attendees about IBM's commitment to OS/2.
We still have a few copies of the Developers' Connection One CD-ROM left
(with the 120 IBM TCP/IP license), so come get those (MIT only), and we
will have a few door prizes to give away. If you have made a set of
crispy disks from the CSD, please bring them, and lend them to a friend.
Be sure to join us next month (Thursday April 21, at 5pm in 2-105)
for DeScribe 4.0, (a native 32-bit word processor for OS/2 v2.x)
demonstrated by Jon Johnson, Eastern Region Manager, DeScribe, Inc.
(I have met Jon, and he is a very animated, interesting guy. This
should be a really good presentation!)
Happy OS/2ing!
