hmm.
i seem to recall a similar redirect mechanism in SMTP some time ago. not
worth the effort; broken; or somesuch.
anyhow, once you've hit a server, the benefit of having it issue a redirect is
much smaller than finding a way to avoid hitting it in the first place.
