I also like the idea of using TXT records and the DNS system
in general for more "whois-like" functions. If you ask me, I will
provide more detailed proposals. I will not post them to this
list to keep the traffic to a minimum.
As for as "Heretics", I think the servers above are going to
be RFC 2010 compliant. It may not be good to resort to name
calling until you have read 2010.
