Kevin Mitnick is a little differnet than Tommy, the 15 yr old who stays up all night
uploading warez to the incoming directory on ftp servers. Thousands of stolen credit cards
are different than 500 megs of warez. Confronted with this situation the "local authorities"
would laugh, whether it be the town sheriff or the local fbi office.
