  IMHO you got the terminology wrong - these are nice NAS(Network 
Attached Storage) devices - not SAN

 SAN(as in Fiber channel or possibly iSCSI over GigE) is a touch expensive
for SOHO(typically starting off in the 5 digit (US$) range)
