Even if a 10Mbps ATM circuit resulted in as little as a 6Mbps TCP payload,
then PPP would give you about 7.2Mbps, since ATM costs you about 12% over
PPP, given measured packet size distributions from FIX West.
Is this not slow enough to be a bottleneck?
