Side note, I've got a 1988 email from Mike Brescia which, embedded
in the old Diamond multimedia email format, has a PostScript plot
of the total number of advertised networks from 1983-1988.
Once upon a time I managed to extract the table from the note -- with
effort, it might be done again.
