Multiple folks are reporting their Sprint DS3 and T1 circuits are
down in the Seattle area.
Abovenet, UUNET, Verio, Qwest, and more report no backbone
infrastructure problems in the Seattle area. A few individual
customer circuits are down, but it is likely a problem at the
customer site, not with the network.
The Seattle Internet Exchange (SIX) appears operating as normal.
Qwest/USWEST reports extremely heavy call volume in the Seattle
area, and dial tone may be delayed. But there is minimal
infrastructure damage to their network. Data circuits appear
functioning as normal.
Some long-distance telephone networks have messages that calls
can not be completed due to an earthquake in the area.
