Although SWIP is relatively easy to use, you have more control and
(theoretically) privacy with rwhois.  It's also not that hard to use,
being a flat file format;  once you make the initial investment to
learn it, you're pretty much set and can write all kinds of scripts to
update it as Todd mentioned.
