IBM.  Circa 1992, they patented every network that communicates with a
wireless network, specifically mentioning TCP/IP.  Oh, and they also
patented a system of names indirectly referencing the location 
information, that is, DNS....

A fellow named Charlie Perkins, who at a Boston session in 1994
explained that at the time, he'd never heard of the IETF.
