The $15.3 billion merger of electronic security firm VeriSign
Inc. and domain name king Network Solutions Inc. was the
largest deal in Internet history. Analysts say the combined
company likely will be one the Internet's most powerful players
because it will maintain the Web address infrastructure and be
well positioned to to offer e-commerce services to companies
registering Internet domains.
