I'm getting the impression you haven't yet gotten around to looking at
VPN applications intended for non-specialists.  Here's a good one to
start with:

They have point'n'click apps for all the usual platforms.  The free
level of service provides 500MB/mo, plenty for gambling.

If you haven't heard of Golden Frog, it is better known as Giganews.
